what's going on here: this is a mermaid temple, it was attacked by enemies. Stone face in the center is the mermaid supreme goddess (balls on her headdress are a symbolic image of caviar). The mermaid in the center is a priestess, she was wounded in battle. She had to hide in this room and take her actual form in order to regenerate faster.
