When it isn't snowy, that's what the gorge always looked like for me.
Try a polarizing filter in fog in the future, it boosts the contrast and pokes through a bit of haze. Also, add some vignetting in post-processing on this one to spice it up a bit. You'll be pleasantly surprised.
