Original Title: Monster Heart
Created: Also some time last year
This one REALLY fits the name brain spasm. I'll admit that it is a bit frantic, skipping from one section to another quickly with no revisiting...
This also seems to be what turned a lot of people that I requested input from off to this tune.
On a related note, most of them questioned why I would title it Monster Heart with moments of sweet sounding melody and reflective chords. They argued that it didn't fit its title.
Now, I want to argue back. It certainly DOES fit the title, and you are not a thoughtful enough individual. I will not explain my argument here. Become a thoughtful individual and interpret. I'll gladly discuss with you if you do.
The musical gimmick (if you will) is the strong, pulsing bass (usually drum) driving through most if not all of the song after its "awakening"
I break the song up into scenes:
-Sleep/Dreams
-Awakening (transition)
-Rampage
-Recluse/Sanctuary
-The Reason
-Diverting
-Stand
-Hit (transition)
-To Oblivion
It's my longest musical project so far by a pretty long shot, and despite it's poor responses, I'm fairly proud of it for it's sound and meaning, even if those have fallen on disagreeing ears. Hence its posting.

I find it hard to believe that it received poor responses. This is the sort of experimentation that could create a future for music aside from all the here-today-gone-tomorrow fads of songs with single, concrete meanings and a tendency for most songs to be meaningful for a limited time.
It's imaginative without being repetitive, and driving without having to conform to a single definition.

Heh. I think my view and fave count after 6 hours begs to differ with your difficulty in belief...
It is sad that experimental music gets so little attention these days, and that the future of music seems to belong to those restricted meaning songs as you said as a direct result...
I'm sincerely glad that you enjoyed it and that it seems to have provoked some thought and/or response. Thank you.

Well, you did kinda huck it into your scraps. Musical brain spasms seem to face some of the same problems that writing does on this site, except perhaps that music is worser for the wear (even though all you have to do is click the play button for music as opposed to maybe having to download something or take the time and effort to read) because not many go searching for music.
I'm sorry that it's not getting the critical reception it should, but I still think it's a great piece despite that.
