[DOODLE] The Plasmolysis
The modified Arc Welder “ Plasmolysis” (He thought it had to do with plasma) is Astro’s personal side arm (or ‘starting gun’). Designed for comfort and fooling around, this weapon delivers light but supposedly accurate shots across great distance. While the trigger is held, is will continue to strike the point of impact, though doing so draws more ammo from its regenerating battery. This beam breaks when the direct line of effect is broken and does not latch onto whatever broke it.
Astro mostly modified the body of the design so it’s less of a welding gun and more of a fierce weapon. It looks like his head, and he himself is quite fierce. Any proper engineer, however, can tell these modifications actually hinder functionality by drastically altering the intended center of mass and adding unneeded weight.
The alternate firing mode is twofold. If the weapon is overheated or fully drained, Astro attempts to recharge the battery with psionic techniques (or a hand crank). While not suffering either complication, the weapon simply looses a glob of plasma, though doing so instantly overheats and depletes the battery, as forming solid balls of plasma, as it turns out, is an energy intensive solution. This ball simply marches through all targets, dealing damage as it does. Once used, however, the weapon suffers reduction in all fields (and cannot use the beam functionality) until Astro completes the area and takes time to unclog the clogged bits.
Astro’s sidearm is, by far, the most straightforward to use, being dead accurate and decently punchy for an unlimited sidearm. On the downside, it has no outstanding features, meaning most proper weapons surpass it in raw power and function all the time.
