I love her hair! She reminds me of an '80s anime character.
If you like DBH- consider checking out Isaac Asimov's Robot Chronicles? DBH took a lot of inspiration from them - they've got a gentle robot/snarky human detective pair, sci-fi murder mystery stuff, and worldbuilding that holds up pretty darn well for having been written in the '50s. The first book is I, Robot, but the first book with the detective is The Caves of Steel. You can start with either!
