I like doing my own interpretations of characters!
In dnd we've run in to like.. actual important characters in the book ? but the dm put their own spin on them
cause like, according to lore Tiamat and Bahamut are brothers and sisters " and may be related to Yggdrasil who is an ancient timber dragon "
but in the dnd campaign Bahamut was originally a golden dragon, who was like worthy enought to contain and embody the magic of bahamut. the dragons wife was corrupted by a darker power that turned her in to Tiamat. and Yggdrasil was like.. the world tree supported the whole known universe in that campaign not just Asgard.
So i ended making designs for each of the major dragons in that campaign! i have the Bahamut design " an irl sketch page of Yggdrasil in a dragon from not just like.. a tree " and Of course Tiamat here! She was my favourite design
ORIGINALLY i wanted to have like a chromatic effect? like if you look at a hummingbird from different angles sometimes the feathers look a different colour? i wanted to have that going on with Tiamat. like you look at here from different angles and her bodies scales would change colours. the colour of each chromatic dragon. The heads wouldnt change just the body
Buuut i didnt know how to add that in ;v;
Any who that was some story time behind this design. Its a pain in the butt to draw since like. drawing Tiamat is pretty much drawing 5 different dragons all attached to one HUGE body, i struggled to fit this in to a ref! BUT i certainly am super proud of the out come ... i hope people like this or see this... i spent so long on it and i really liked the outcome..

Hail to the Dark Mother!
Fun detail: Blue head next to the Black head. Congrats to have it done correctly, since Blacks are not friendly with Greens because of shared territories in forests and lakes, sometimes in swamps as well...and this hostile nature is shown on Tiamat as well, as the green head should never be next to the black one! Well, the Goddess can look as She wants, but I like Her look to represent the main five chromatic dragons as well as the tiny details connecting them...hence I like if the head order is done right and that the black and green head is never next to another! Good job with that detail!
