MBT-53A1 Hurricane (W.I.P. 6 The Brave Men & Women)
So now turning away from the MBT-53, and to the crew and supporting infantry we have 3 figures, the 1 one the left being a Panzergrenadier from Tamiya's 1/35 German Panzergrenadiers kit, while the other 2 are from Tamiya's 1/35 German Tank Crew at Rest kit. Now these are the 3 examples I have completed, as they were the best quality to start of on from the base coat. All paints are Tamiya so I'll just be using the colors names and numbers, I started out with a spray paint coat of Olive Green (USAF) AS-14 before painting the faces and exposed skin Red Brown XF-64. Next I painted the belts, boots, under side of the neck, chin, hands and leather straps on the equipment on the left one Wooden Deck Tan XF-78 before ging over the boots with a moderate dry brush to mud up the boots with Flat Earth XF-52 which is also used on the rolled up sack and canteen for the left. I painted the belt buckle of the middle one with Red Brown XF-64 with a dot of Flat Aluminium XF-16 in the middle before going over the edges of the pockets, shoulder flaps (or whatever they're called), collar insignia, right belt buckle, knife blade of the left one, and insignia on the soft cap of the middle with the same color using a series of thin brushes, light touches, sewing needles, and a single hair of mine until i achieved the desired effect. The shirts on the crewmen are painted Dark Grey XF-24 with the gloves and gasmask canister being German Grey XF-63. The armor pin (just above the left side of the belt), mess kit, knife handle, metal buckles on the gear, and hat brim are Gun Metal X-10. The "Golden Cross of Honor" is Gold Leaf X-12 (No shit) while the "Ribbon of of Sacrifice" (middle figure above the GCH) is Flat Yellow XF-3 around Gun Metal X-10. The back straps and large pouch on the Panzergrenadier are Black Green XF-27.
