abananaman, his wonderful girls again!
Kali does a little howl to show Tala Tala tries to do it too, but sadly she she can't - she doesn't have a voice.
Luckily, Kali doesn't give up easily and has something to help her (girl)friend out ;D Fun fact: In some traditional oral storytelling and music, a flute is used to symbolize the coyote and to mimic their sounds.

I love how expressive this comic is in just the few panels provided. It so clearly tells the story with no dialogue required, with the facial expressions, body language, and adorably illustrated musical notes doing the heavy lifting. :) I really enjoy how it speaks to the relationship between the two characters, and how it demonstrates that just because someone can't or thinks they can't do something doesn't mean they can't participate and contribute something valuable to the whole.
Phenomenal work.

Aw, this is absolutely adorable.
laurenrivers pointed me over here, and I agree with everything she said. It's a really sweet little moment between the two characters, and I love the idea of helping someone discover that, just because they lack a certain ability, it doesn't mean they don't have equal valuable talents that they can use instead. Plus I like the idea of using real world traditions, like using the flute to symbolize the sounds of the coyote, in a furry setting like this. It's sort of a neat little bridge between worlds, I think.
The art is simply amazing, too. I love your backgrounds, particularly in the first panel, and all of the lush detail that has gone into everything!

That's true! After all, everyone is a genius - but if you judge a fish by its ability to climb a tree, it will live its whole life believing that it is stupid.
Aaahhh, thank you so much for your lovely comment! It means a lot to me, I'm really glad you like this artwork and caught so many symbols behind it ;_;

I try to be this person whenever I'm in a musical situation. Sure, I don't have a singing voice to speak of, but that same desire for others to join in, especially when they have little confidence in themselves, is what makes me want to play music with others. I once hosted an open jam and a ton of kids with no experience joined in on instruments and it sounded amazing. I made everyone take turns in the spotlight, soloing with their hearts instead of their heads. This comic reminds me very much of that time and it brought me a smile.
