This is concept art for a species of dinosaur I'm working on. I'm not entirely sure that I'm happy with the head crest, I'm going to play around with it some more. The head crest is purely display and the only sexual dimorphism in the species, with males having varying brightly colored crests. I'm also not happy with the teeth, which I made too mammalion, and perhaps the general face structure. I'll be working on how they look as I go.
I have quite a bit written about them, but I'm not really ready to release it into the world. Eventually I will... probably. The basic concept is that they are a short lived (30ish years) animal with intelligence comparable to humans (cliche I know,) who live in very densely populated societies. They farm and eat insects and large animals, and form short but powerful bonds with each other.
If you want to make a character of one I wouldn't recommend it at the moment, as I said this isn't the final design. I imagine I'll be changing quite a bit over time.

Thank you! I actually decided to go more dilophosaurus, which you can see in the new one I posted, but my original thought was oviraptor-like.
I was thinking only making the colors different on the crest, but it's a good idea to have some variation with shape as well. Perhaps the spike placement and size on the crest!
