After a hard day doing commissions and ebooks, I decided to do something for myself that I've wanted to for a little bit.
I'd like to introduce you to Amaroq from No Evil. He's a giant wolf whose motives are unknown, though he throws his lot in with the series' antagonists.
One of Amaroq's recurring plot roles is serving as an adoptive guardian of sorts to Charles, a human who has the power to curse people with a black goop that renders them comatose. Charles is interested in increasing and mastering his power, but Amaroq seems more interested in making sure Charles does good in school and the like. Whenever Charles disobeys Amaroq's orders? Amaroq puts his gigantic size to use and simply sits on Charles until he agrees to behave. The logic is simple: while Charles can threaten to curse Amaroq, Amaroq is too heavy for Charles to lift, and Charles does not know how to lift the curse, ergo, cursing Amaroq would mean he would be trapped forever.
Despite Amaroq's efforts, Charles remains dedicated to expanding his ability to "command" the "dark abyss." So I figured I'd draw out a scenario where Amaroq gives Charles a dark abyss he can command to his heart's content.

Now I just have the mental image of Amaroq going through Dangerous Host and Harmless Guest like this. Including the high-speed parkour to a dragon skeleton, which it can not be comfortable being on the inside of. Then again, nothing gets kids to do what you say better than a gut filled with another kid so maybe this Amaroq could avoid that.
