Khan'Ning Defense Aeronautics Bureau KN-220 Din'Hau
In the 1988 the Mai'No'Tian Government was able to finally get large amounts of data on the Advanced Tactical Fighter Program (ATF) of the United States Air Force and quickly began work on their own advanced air domination fighter aircraft. The Government went to Khan'Ning to begin development, informing them of the American progress and requirements, as well as laying out their own, with the largest being SA/AS capability for the CADA to to use on cosmic-carriers. SA/AS was becoming more and more evident in it's need as developing 2 aircraft for one purpose but in different environments would lead to an over use of resources and manpower and that most threats that face Mai'No'Tia lack such technology to engage in medium switching combat, giving Mai'No'Tian pilots the ability to engage when and where they please. The aircraft also needed the ability to be small enough and capable to operate of CDN carriers, able to sustain a speed of Mach 2 for at least 10 minutes at sea level, have a turn time of 10 seconds, a roll rate of .5 seconds, and a rate of climb of Mach 1.5, all while being stealthy. After years of work, testing, calculations and sleepless nights they got word that the 2 Americans finalists had been rolled out, the *XF-22O (Letter O) produced by Lockheed Martin, and the XF-23T by Northrop Grumman* and are undergoing flight testing. Finally able to watch in real time what they were up against, the Khan'Ning team took inspiration from both designs, but more fro the XF-22O than the XF-23T. One of the most pioneering aspects for the SA/AS requirements was the 3D-TV Turbo-Rocket engines along with the Oxi-Tri-Jet-Thonal fuel which powered them and was easily makeable. The Turbo-Rocket was a new type of jet engine derived from a axial flow turbojet with a 3 Dimensional Thrust Vectoring Nozzle to provide extreme atmospheric mobility and the thrust inequalities needed for space flight, in atmospheric conditions it acts as a normal jet, taking in air, compressing it, mix it with fuel before igniting it, but when in extremely low oxygen and pressure environments the jet seals shut before the fuel injectors which then release much less fuel and turns into a rocket, the fuel is extremely high in oxygen for combustibility in oxygen lacking environments. Along with the thrust vectoring, engine power is slightly adjusted with the rudder pedals and more thrust can be directed using the "fingers" on the exhaust. The Din'Hau is armed to the brim, with the potential to hold 52 missiles, 4 standard size in the gondolas under the wings with 48 being "Pocket Rockets" just under half the size in the internal bays, with 4 external hard points, along with 2 internally housed 20mm 5 barrelled rotary cannons hold 400 rounds each with the ability to turn off one gun to stretch out the ammo usage. The aircraft has an atmospheric top speed of nearly Mach 3, which is only limited to the stress and heat of the airframe and can fly for almost 2,000 km on a single tank, thanks to it's high thrust to weight ratio, efficient airframe, relative light weight, engines, and on board electronics. All the control surfaces are foldable for storage and are equipped with a cable reserve system incase the flight control surfaces lose power. It's predicted that if not forced to advance further, the 220 will be the fighter for Mai'No'Tia for well over a century.
