I genuinely believe it's an astounding sensation,
the ability to arrive at my home every day,
to relax and lay down, to let me worries slip away
and bring myself to relax completely in such elation.

Drifting off to a different kind of mental state,
I think back to my day and all the troubles I've had,
the frustrations and mental agitation,
stress and hate building up to a level I could hardly tolerate.

But it all changes as I crawl tiredly into bed,
with hardly an ounce of ceremony or grace,
I relax and slow down as I begin to quietly meditate,
thinking of what may come next as I plan ahead.

So here I lay, marking down all the memories to keep
of what happened that day and all the joyful things to remember,
wondering of what the next day holds, perhaps with a slight touch of dread
before finally and calmly drifting off to sleep.
