I've seen many zoos lately who which put them together. It's no problem, panthers are an subspecies of leopards if i remember right
This panther was exactly like you said, he never stand still and came never near to me. Good thing i had the big camera with me, it has a strong zoom hehe.

they're actually the same species. A "Panther" is a generic term for a melanistic Leopard, jaguar, or rarely a puma. Mellanistic is a skin condition that the melonoma pigmates the skin darker than usual, giving it a black apperance. If you notice, even in this pic, you can still notice the rosettes within the dark color.
