The ∀ Gundam with friends! The mobile suits flanking the Turn A here were originally meant to be the design for the Turn A Gundam itself. The mechanical designer for the series, Syd Mead of Bladerunner fame, was asked to go back to the drawing board and make something that looked more like a Gundam. And so the design of the Turn A as it appeared in the show came to be. The original design was still used in the series however. Not as the Gundam but as the mobile suits used by the moon queen's guards instead. Bonus points if you know what these mobile suits are actually called! ^_^
