This is a character I play in a Dungeons and Dragons game a friend of mine runs. Shiv is a dragonborn fighter/rogue. He has very little experience with other dragonborn; he was hatched to a human slaver who had stolen (or for all Shiv knows purchased) his egg and was training him to be obedient for an eventual sale. That man made some enemies with the thieve's guild, however, and was killed when Shiv was about six years old. The guild took him in, training him as a thug, enforcer, burglar, bounty hunter, and just general muscle/intimidation. Growing up this way made him pretty jaded and suspicious.

He's true neutral in alignment, which I feel is a very tricky alignment to play properly. I play him as a fairly greedy pragmatist who tends to opt for whatever the most practical option happens to be. He's been adventuring with a party that is led by a Harper agent (basically a secret society of do-gooders), and has been trying to thwart the actions of a cult that appears to be trying to summon demons (or possibly worse...). He's had some dealings with some (probably) non-evil liches, including one where he essentially sacrificed a fellow party member to them. Said party member seemed to kind of want to die, and Shiv didn't fully realize that the liches planned to enslave the sacrifice's soul, so he feels pretty bad about it and is currently trying to buy the soul back (the liches are basically just using him as a servant). He's also recently met a masked man who claims to be a dragon, and may be taking some levels of warlock from that partnership.
