A silly little Ode to Oxygen that I thought up. It made my nerdy friends chuckle a little maybe some chem nerd here my chuckle as well :)
An ode to Oxygen (and components)
Oh great intoxicating vapor feeling my lungs
thou art most pleasing to my sustainment.
Aiding my body in the process of digestion
as well as the general stasis of my being.
Your ability to break down molecular energy
is unrivaled by any other cellular respiratory process.
So here is to you Di-oxygen, for breaking down
NAD and FAD to create NAdenosine-5'-triphosphate.
Ode to you oxygen my reason for surviving
Ode to you for ever striving!

You've seen me at the Renaissance Fest?
...
YOU HAVEN'T?

Oh god. Ok, so elf-Mau standing on a bench, cast in a singular stream of moonlight as a crowd looks on. A single tear, falling from Mau's deep green eyeballs. Mau recites this wonderful poem, a baby cries--it is silenced. A lady weeps. Oxygen stands still in reverence. Mau finishes the last line: "Ode to you... for ever... striving." A single tear falls from Mau's whisker, the air still, the crowd still, it splashes to the ground.
A clap. You clap.
But you aren't moving your paws.
But they are moving.
Every paw is moving. They are glowing.
You are all glowing.
You are floating. Nobody has faces... Just eyes. Just floating eyes!

You hit the alarm clock: 8:30 AM.
...
Man, Further, you have some weird dreams.
