The background is amazing, I especially like the ground.

Hmm. I could get all artsy-fartsy and contemplate the meaning of the forest behind Maria there. A state of mind? How she feels about her current lot in life?

Or, you know, I could just fav it for being dark and off-center. Both work just as well for me.

I like the latter better--gut reactions are more trustworthy =)

180 degrees? I'll say! Love the foresty green and brown colours here and the strange cutout meets painting look to this. Although, I'm not sure whether I entirely like the plainess in the girls face. Still cool though.

Like a pause in a stroll, where you happen to stop and take in a deep breath always seems to be a very tranquil spot that makes you take a look around at your settings and think to yourself a bit.
Very nice, I love the spacing and the painterly style.

Why?

It's somewhat complex. The painting is by the German expressionist painter Franz Marc, one my my favorite painters. It is titled "The Fate of the Animals." He painted mostly animals, so in a way he was a furry artist. Franz Marc was killed in WWI. So I suppose your piece reminds me of a kind of prequel to Franz Marc�s death. I don�t mean this to imply anything bad, Marc died, we all die. So it seems like your piece, which I like a lot, flows into his.
