They look to me like seed or straw spreaders. If I'm not mistaken (I probably am) the straw (and seeds?) would go in the big hopper in the back where it is ground and fed into the unit at the front, which aerates and propels it through the hose. They use these to put cover over newly seeded lands, usually next to highway bridges or wherever they cut hillsides for roads.

I'd be in heaven there. I'm a salvager these days, living on a boat...looks like a lot of neat, useable stuff.

It's definitely owned, though. Looks like the nearby gas station (which is still in operation) owns the junkyard.

Nothing is going to be owned in no time at all...

It's amazing to imagine the world in the future, society collapsed, most people gone, but all the crap they built still left behind, the world as one big junkyard, everything free for the taking.
