HEAD
The following questions ask you to explain how satisfied you are with each feature of the head of the costume. If you are reviewing only a set of ears, your answers would also go in this section.
Wear Satisfaction
Please describe how it is to wear this piece of your costume.
So first off, the head is HEAVY! I'm sure the large ears add to a bit of the weight, but this is a very dense expanding foam build that may be tough for first time wearers. I don't have a lot of trouble with it but it's something you have to get used to.
It is a little difficult to put the head on due to the small neck/jaw space when initially putting it on, however the fit when it's on is wonderful.
Vision is amazing, as expected from such huge eyes!
Ventilation is also awesome, if it gets too stuffy I just stick my paws in my mouth and open the jaw.
Nothing sharp is on my face or is rubbing up uncomfortably.
The head is lined with a red liner (I think to simulate an open mouth which is really cute) and it's good at absorbing sweat.
The only time I've really had a problem was when I was at a con and the head kept slipping down and even though I had a balaclava on, my hair got loose and destroyed my eyeballs. I don't believe they really shook the head out much after shaving as well, because there were hair shavings in the head for the first couple of times of wearing her. (Not a big deal, just a surprise fur explosion in my face when I went to put it on lol)
Appearance Satisfaction
Please describe how satisfied you are with how your costume piece looks from the outside.
I love her hair! They did an awesome job finding a long wispy fur and I think it makes the character come to life.
Her eyes are just how I wanted them, I had send them a picture of one of their previous works to show the style I wanted (since they change up the eyes with every suit)
As far as matching up the reference sheet, they did everything wonderfully aside from the grey around her eyes, which isn't there. I assume this was because it would have been too tight to put in with the eyebrows being there so they left it out, it doesn't really bother me but I wish they had mentioned that they weren't doing it.
Shaving is awesome all around, it's a little bit choppy at the top of her neck and the sides of her cheeks where the fur gets longer.
She has airbrushing on the nose and eyes and it's stayed on very well so far!
I had noticed that one of her top teeth wasn't put in right and it hangs off with a gap like it was half on. I super-glued it neatly back as well as I could but I can't really get it back to the perfect position myself because the foam is so dense.
Her eyebrows are held together with very strong magnets that I haven't had any issues with.
HANDS AND FEET
The following questions ask you to explain how satisfied you are with each feature of the hands and feet of the costume.
Wear Satisfaction
Please describe how it is to wear these pieces of your costume.
The hands fit nicely, the wrist bit seems rather small for an average wearer but for me it's nice and snug, the paws are HUGE so it helps from slipping off. They're unlined and can get sticky and furry but that's to be expected.
The feet are made with shoes and they fit snugly, they're a bit heavier than regular feetpaws because of the shoe and foam. I love the large claws!
Appearance Satisfaction
Please describe how satisfied you are with how your costume pieces look from the outside.
On the back of the foot you can tell where someone kinda glued the seam shut instead of sewing it which isn't really a problem or anything, I just have to be careful when brushing.
Both the hands and feet have minky pawpads and some are looser than others (instead of flat they're more like pockets) but since I move them around so much you can't really tell.
TAILS
The following questions ask you to explain how satisfied you are with each feature of the tail(s) of the costume.
Wear Satisfaction
Please describe how it is to wear these pieces of your costume.
The tail is super cool, it's on a kidney belt and it's very sturdy. I only wear it when I'm fully partialing (since the bodysuit I have has an attached tail and is by another maker)
Aside from that I could probably whack someone into another dimension with the strength of this tail
Appearance Satisfaction
Please describe how satisfied you are with how your costume pieces look from the outside.
The one thing I think is odd is the fact that they used a plastic to stand the mane fur up on the tail instead of just sewing a tube onto the base, so it can be very pointy at times and you have to be gentle when touching it.
Markings are all on point!
OVERALL SATISFACTION
The following questions ask how satisfied you are with the overall buying experience, including your interactions with the maker and the resulting final product.
How well does everything fit together and match up?
I'm very satisfied with what I received. I loved the goodies that came with the suit and how everything fits me with no major issues. I haven't had any seams pop or wear marks yet.
How easy was it to initially contact the maker for a quote?
It was very easy to contact them at the time of the quote. They would respond withing 24 hours, and we stopped conversing as I waited for the slot that was supposed to be starting in June 2017.
I contacted them in March of 2017 at the beginning of the month but didn't get a response, then sent one at the end of the month with another thing I had thought of and they seemed to have missed that last email. I then contacted them at the end of June just to ask where I was in the queue since they don't have a Trello and was told that I was around August 20ths, which was fine.
I contacted them again in the middle of September since that time frame passed and I hadn't received anything, and they said they were behind. In the middle of October I asked if they would have it ready before a convention at the end of October and they said they would try their best so I was really hoping they would have it done in time.
Unfortunately they didn't have it ready for the con and in November I asked if they would have it in time for Christmas, and they said yes. I asked if there were any wips yet since I was getting kind of nervous since there were so many delays and I never saw anything worked on yet and luckily they sent me some pictures. We were able to discuss an option or two like where the horns should be placed on the head, and it was shipped out and it arrived December 8th 2017.
Even though it felt like it was a pretty crazy ride of emotions for this whole process and I felt bad for having to ask about the updates so many times, they delivered and nothing seemed rushed or out of place.
How satisfied are you with the response time from the maker?
How long did it take the maker to get back to you?
They were very good at responding quickly (within 24 hours or no more than a couple days)
How satisfied are you with the professionalism and customer service and of the maker?
I'm very impressed, they run it as a company more than a small business and while you might not have the loving touch you get with other makers, I still had trust in them to complete a product like professionals and they did just that.
How satisfied are you with how long your project took to complete?
I wish it was quite a bit shorter since I was told they started that batch in June 2017 and I finished the full payment in the same week as the quote, and it was delayed by 5ish months. I know people run into issues in their lives so I wasn't very concerned, I just didn't know I'd be waiting that long.
Are you happy with the product you received?
I'm happy, there's things I've nitpicked a bit but overall I love her and I think it's a great representation of my character.
Describe your overall experience with this maker.
I would work with them again if I wanted a suit in a similar style.
