I have handmade pokeberry ink bottled and ready for sale! I have two sizes, 3/4oz and 2 oz. That's about 22.5ml and 60ml for people who use a reasonable system of measurement.
The small ones are going for $8 and the large ones for $13 plus shipping. If anyone's interested either send me a note or IM me, and I can provide you with the details.
This ink is made from fermented juice of wild Pokeberries, which are native to the US and were used historically for this purpose. It starts off a purple color, then ages to brown. It will fade in UV light, so anything you write or draw with it should be kept out of direct sunlight. There's alcohol in it, so don't use anything that alcohol could damage to write with, and it's also toxic, so don't drink it unless you want some intense vomiting and diarrhea sessions. It works well in a dip pen, I don't have a fountain pen but there shouldn't be much difference.
This is cool stuff for re-enactment, or LARP, or anything where you want to give a document a historical feel!
I can throw in some seeds too, if anyone wants to grow some pokeweed. It's a pretty neat looking plant.

Since this ink is fermented, the alcohol will corrode steel nibs and ruin most fountain pens. If there is salt and/or vinegar as well, that will also cause corrosion and salt build up from evaporation which will clog it.
I don't have any experience with pokeberry ink, but I imagine that it's more liquid than a carbon/shellac based ink, so it probably won't clog and dry as those do, just corrode. I certainly wouldn't dare put it in a fountain pen. It might work OK in a very old one, say 19th century or early 20th, since the inks they used then were usually very acidic or alkaline, so they made the nib out of gold and the bodies and feeds out of vulcanized rubber as hard as plastic to resist the corrosion. However you'd still want to flush it regularly and keep an eye on it, so more bother than it's worth. D:
