It is alive. It has thoughts and feelings just like anyone. Its kind of like a golem. The only problem with them is they have none of the five senses that we have. When a flesh and blood creature makes physical contact, they share the five senses of the creature. That means animals and people. Along with the five senses, they share thoughts as well.

There is only one thing that the stones can sense and that is gravity. The stones have a wide variety of powers too. They can manipulate hot and cold, create light and levitate. Not all stone can do these things. When each stone is cut from a master stone it develops its own unique powers. people can aid in the development of the stone and help it become what they need it to be. It is kind of a symbiotic relationship.
