Edit: The badge originally had a female symbol & she/her pronouns, but boy a lot sure has changed in 5 ½ years! I now consider myself to be androgyne & can be referred to with a variety of pronouns.
Androgyne is a non-binary gender identity that relates to the concept of androgyny, often blending aspects of both male & female identities together (though not necessarily in equal parts).
The symbol most often associated with androgyne is ⚦ (direction pointed can vary) & represents the idea of combining male & female symbols together... but it's very ambiguous because it's also used to represent intersex. The official name of this unicode character is "male with stroke sign" which I personally do not feel aligns with the spirit of the idea either.
So for my personal use, I prefer this symbol! It's created from half of the male symbol & half of the female symbol, split down the middle of the stem. I like it because I think it better honors the symbolism of the androgyne flag: bands of pink/purple/blue, but more unique in that they are arranged vertically instead of horizontally so that the flag represents the feminine aspect on one side & masculine on the other.
