Last one for today. Women face a lot of #sexism in tech support. Even when giving the same solution in the same words, their words aren't given the same weight as a man's.
This is a good time to plug actually, this is why there's a huge waiting time sometimes. Someone would call in, they won't take the women's advice and then call in again and again until they get a man. A huge waste of time on everyone's part.

It's frustrating. I hate that my friend's professional work gets invalidated because of their gender. If you listen to the call the guy's tone of voice is always super condescending too. It's so ridiculous.
And yeah, if they just switched signing emails with a male name I'm sure half the "issues" would suddenly not be an issue anymore.

I can understand that.
that's what happened, it was either a day or a week, a female switched with her manager or whoever, and they signed each other's names on the emails. She said it was the easiest week she's had, while the manager apologized for not believing her after the fact.

I really like it when they DID get a woman, called back in frustrated and say "The lady I had before gave me bad information!"
*check ticket, ticket is perfectly sound*
"No, they were correct, that's the way it goes. Would you like me to explain why?"
They don't usually like that.

My favorite part is when someone gave me a whole lot of hell about how he would have to proceed next, basically told me to screw myself, and hung up on me.
He then called in several hours later, and luck had it that he got me.
I didn't act like I'd talked to him earlier, and he was meek as hell throughout the call as I walked him through exactly what I had told him earlier. I sat there with a shit eating grin on my face the whole time.
Finally near the end, he even MORE meekly stated, "X... I uh... I uh talked to you earlier didn't I?"
"Oh yes, I suppose you did! Well I'm glad that we could resolve the issue you had earlier now~" Mmmmm felt so good.

Had that happen years back at a call center I was working at: female coworker spends 10 minutes repeating the same sentence over and over, which was basically: 'we cannot do what you ask because of those reasons'. Which was very right, management would have chewed her ass and fired her if she did what the customer asked.
Male coworker walks by on his way to lunch, she grabs his arm and ask him to take the call because the supervisors wouldn't and she can't just hung up on the customer as it's against the rules. Male coworker takes the call, never even pretend to be supervisor, just repeat the exact same sentence that female coworker had told a thousand times before, customer goes 'Oh, ok then. Have a nice day' and call ends...
