The journey was coming to a close. It wouldn't take long and he would be the newest citizen of the small lunar colony. Over the past few days, as they were slowly approaching their destination, he was able to feel the increasing influence of the moon tugging within him.
After disregarding the first minor changes that appeared a few days ago and the panic that followed the unmistakable ones, things settled down and he came to terms with his hidden condition.
By now, it was an irresistible force propelling the change. He looked down at his hands and noted that only the claws and a few patches of fur were still missing. After a long while he slowly glanced up again, looking serenely out of the large observation window, thinking about the new destiny he discovered.

A long, long time ago I wrote a story about werewolves in space. The changes weren't voluntary there, and for new werewolves, there wasn't a whole lot of control either, so things got out of paw really fast! I had fun writing it but man did I go overboard with the characters.
Anyway, very cool and evocative picture this!

Keep in mind I wrote this over twenty years ago now. There's gonna be bad writing, silly stuff, and me being a typical twenty year old who thinks they know the solution to everything so watch out for the handful of times I get on my high horse about something that makes me bonk my horns into the wall now.

That does bring up an interesting point. In space the moon should be full all of the time, without anything in the way to block it.
But werewolves allegedly transform at the sight of the full moon, or by the full moon.
So what if a werewolf was on the moon itself? It would either not affect them, or it will keep them in constant werewolf form.
An interesting complicated subject.
