One of the main purposes for getting to Valencia was seeing the City of Arts and Sciences, which is a several hundred acres complex designed entirely by the Spanish architect Santiago Calatrava. The crazy looking building you seen in the background is the opera house that was nearing completion when we were there. And I just liked the gargoyles (complete with bits).
