I seem to recall that the Yuuzhan Vong plucked out his eye and stuck a biot in its place. Was that just part of the torture for the hell of it or did they have a special reason?

The eye they plucked out with a cybernetic implant and being technophobic, the Vong viewed it as impure.

Yeah, I can understand the Vong ripping off a mechanical arm and growing an organic one in its place, but ripping out a perfectly good organic eye to replace it with a different organic eye just seems wasteful, especially if you're going to take the Vong eye out and stick a robotic one in afterwards.
