
This was part of the same monument as the last two pictures. I don't remember who the equestrian statue was for, but it was pretty awesome.

You've spured me on to actually figure this out though. The equestrian statue was still part of the Altare della Partria, as completed in 1911. It is also known as the Monument of Vittorio Emanuele II, after the first ruler over a unified Italy, who ruled from 1861 till 1878, and the statue is of him.

Well, unified... Cancern known as Vatian is still right in the middle of Rome and anyone claming the unification of Italy should first kick it outta map... Plus, good old VE is more famed for his other exploits that are repeated by his descendants - last two are now persecuted for whoring:)
