The burrowing owl really is a unique animal.
They can sprint as well as fly in order to hunt, and they also display an amazing example of acoustic Batesian mimicry.
Plus, they smol.
I've personally never had the pleasure of working with one, but my boss has told me stories of one that she hand raised many years ago - he was called Tye. <3
Whilst I had no photographs of Tye himself to reference of, I found an amazing stock reference photo by blepfo @ dA that I worked closely from.
(Gonna give the original drawing to my boss for her birthday. I sure hope she likes it. <3)
