There is a fox with a lantern that appears when people are close to death. It's light leads the person away from everything they knew...some say the souls follow the fox, the others say they become the lantern. Regardless, the fox leads them to a river, where they are sorted on candles to their final destination. Here you can see some of the light transform to Luna moths to join the stars.
