Wear Satisfaction
Please describe how it is to wear this piece of your costume.
Vision is decent which is to be expected with this style of eyes, and it is very airy and comfortable. It's a teenie bit large so will bop on my head a bit but this may be because I added a fan to the muzzle (weighing it down forward) which has a heavy battery pack attached to the side (which tips it to the side). The lining is incredibly smooth and since I wear a balaclava under my head as well, does not get overly sweaty.

They had forgotten to include the magnetic lids I had asked for, but upon sending it back they installed the lids, gave it a fresh shave, and new eyes to match their updated style! Updated head is included in the images.

Wear Satisfaction
Please describe how it is to wear this piece of your costume.
It's perfectly fitted to me, so much so that my friend who put it on couldn't wear it comfortably! haha. The zipper works like a dream and all of the furs are of very high quality; either one time finds or bunny shags which don't generate a lot of static and mess. When it arrived, there was a little popped seam on the back, but this is to be expected of hand made work and I just sewed it up myself! No other seams have popped since then, that I've noticed at least.

I commissioned Houndsteeth because I really loved their plantigrades and I was not disappointed! Again, matches my concept art exactly and the choice of colors influenced how I drew my fursona after receiving the suit.

HANDS AND FEET

Wear Satisfaction
Please describe how it is to wear these pieces of your costume.
The hands are large and in a style I would call "bappy." The fingers of the paws extend beyond my own so that when I move my fingers around my paws kind of flap around. Despite this, they do not slip off and have a satisfying weight to them that makes wearing them fun.

The feet came to me far too large, to the point where they slipped right off my feet. I received the suit right before Anthrocon and did not have time to fix them, making walking around uncomfortable. However, I gave the feet to Houndsteeth at MFF and they were sent back to me fitting perfectly!

Very cute handpaws; large and fun with very smooth seams and shaving. The feet fit like slippers and after the adjustment, look perfect with the suit!

Tail is nice and big, stuffed well! During Anthrocon the belt loop broke off, but I had some emergency elastic with me that I used to replace the original material. I informed Houndsteeth right away, and I'm sure if I had not been able to fix it they would have taken care of this the same as the other issues.

How was your concept art realized?
Perfectly! I'm very pleased with how closely the finished suit matches the concept art I made for it. I drew it in how I imagined she would look in the Houndsteeth style, so I would like to think that they had an easy time translating it into 3D because of this.


How well does everything fit together and match up?
Fits perfectly, no markings missed or incorrect, everything looks great and just how I expected it to look when comparing it to their previous works. The proportions make it look really cute as a partial as well, which I appreciate.


How easy was it to initially contact the maker for a quote?
Easy! Emailed after seeing on twitter that they were opening.


How satisfied are you with the response time from the maker?
How long did it take the maker to get back to you?
Response time was fast and then slow as I believe they were moving studios at the time, but perfectly satisfactory nonetheless.


How satisfied are you with the professionalism and customer service and of the maker?
Very easy to work with and I felt comfortable asking for alterations or changes to the developing work (but I don't think I had any).


How satisfied are you with how long your project took to complete?
In my experience this was a really quick turnaround time. The suit wasn't quite finished right before Anthrocon, which made me nervous, but it arrived just in time and did not seem rushed at all.


Are you happy with the product you received?
I was very impressed with the quality and polish of this suit straight out of the box; everything is clean and the craftmanship is incredible. Definitely exactly what I had wanted!


Describe your overall experience with this maker.
I had been watching Houndsteeth as they developed their work and was excited to commission them for a planti suit, a style which I don't normally like for myself. They were nice and responsive, helpful when I needed it, and willing to fix any mistakes for me. This is definitely a great suit to wear, and I like wearing it for the "chill" times when you don't want to feel so bulky. I loved working with them and am completely satisfied more than a year later!
