More conbadges, this time exclusively from Megaplex 2018.
Every now and then I'll get a request for two badges that should be drawn such that when placed side-by-side they work together to create a larger story. This is a fun extra layer of entertainment, though I don't know what I'm going to do if I ever get a request for three or more badges in sequence since my paper won't be large enough to do it all seamlessly.
Carriecaracal is a really exuberant person if you've never met her before and she wanted to follow up an earlier picture of her character Braiden with a new badge pointing and laughing in mirth (mockery?). I love this kind of a stuff because it gives me something meaty I can chew on when depicting character emotion and motivation. And then...
Madshy came by a short while later and asked about Carrie's badge request and said that was great, -she'd like to get one featuring her character expressing the same gesture back. Yeaaahhh... :D I can do this. It's especially nice to get something like this because it can let me show how two characters doing effectively the same thing won't do it precisely alike. At least in so far as I can get a handle on what their personalities are I love letting them each be presented uniquely.
Rohan & Heartstrings asked for two badges and we spent awhile trying to come up with some idea that would allow both characters be featured equally and this is what we came up with.
Haeton & Blair are friends with Rohan and Heartstrings and after seeing the results of those two badges they came to me asking for their own versions. Originally the hope was to have a tiny version of Rohan and Heartstrings badges depicted in the middle as a way of combining the four badges together, but that would have been a real challenge since the space I have to draw on the badges is super tiny. I did do a digital version of those badges, but I prefer this version instead: without having to make the four badges all occupy the same time and space I was able to replace the sky color I had originally done with a different sunset palette which came out pretty satisfying.
