I drew this for a good friend not long after he went through a pretty bad breakup with his girlfriend. Originally it was just a sketch, but I went back in and fully fleshed it out. I always imagined something like this occurring before Rune Warp Digivolves into her Mega form for the first time.
Here's the description that he put on his mirror post of this image.
"I'm going to be honest here, it was probably one of the hardest moments of my life. I dated her for over a year and a half, during which we shared our very first kiss with each other. Needless to say, I thought we were really close, we had told each other that we loved each other and I honestly thought she meant it. Unfortunately though, I was wrong. When I left for college, she promised that we would keep in touch, but things kept popping up and she promised me she was trying. This really should have been my second clue, the first being than she never made any of my sporting events, while I attended several of her ballet recitals, but she said she was busy then too. Now I'm not saying I wanted to talk with her every waking minute of every waking day, but when your girlfriend who claims she loves you can't make time to even talk to you once in three weeks, it's not that she doesn't have time; it's because you're just not important enough to her. But love covers a multitude of evils, which basically means you can't see the crap your significant other is pulling for what it really is. Spring break eventually rolled around, and I went back to see her and help out at her brother's wedding. She apologized that she hadn't been able to spend time with me and promised once more that she would try harder. By this time, I had gotten to know of her family which approved of me, her mother even telling me that she appreciated my patience and how well I treated her daughter. Figuring things were patched up, I decided to give her a gift, a pink furry jacket which she said she really wanted. It wasn't cheap, and I had spent a lot of effort getting one for her. But two weeks after, she called me up and told me that she never loved me and we where through. A year and a half of her telling me that she loved me, that she cared for me turned out to me nothing more than lies. So i sent her back the senior pictures of her which she had given me and which I kept on my desk, but she never did give me back the expensive jacket I had gotten for her. I'm not saying I would have wanted it, but she pretty much dumped me after she got it, so I can only assume she tossed me away after getting what she wanted. Needless to say, I felt really betrayed and got pretty depressed afterwards, it got pretty bad. That's when Atticus-Kotch drew this for me, a character whom I had invested heavily in to try and bring to life though story and other art forms. I know it may seem silly, but I found it really comforting in my troubled times.
Thankfully, my wounds have pretty much healed by this point so I figured I might as well share this with anyone who cares to listen. I'm going to be blunt here; if your boyfriend/girlfriend is too busy to spend time with you, dump them. Don't make the same mistake I did by trying to look past it while making excuses for them. If someone truly loves you, then they should want to spend time with you and make you a priority. If they don't, then you're probably just a means to an end of some sort, whether it's money, fun experiences, a furry jacket, or something to show off."

Whoever she is speaking to is one lucky bastard...
I'm an old guy now -- really old -- and I've been involved in relationships with more than 25 women in my lifetime. I'll say this: whatever you give a woman is gone. Clothes, jewelry, furniture, money, a house, your heart; write it off. If it comes back, it's a gift. If it doesn't, it's no surprise.
And before you comment, no, I'm not MGTOW (Men Going Their Own Way). I'm just a realist in the game of love and life.
