Great Aurorian Motherland, Post-Colonial Era, AU
Before I go back to college for the fall, I quickly made an updated map of North America in the alternate universe (AU) setting where my dragon characters exist.
The old map can be found here if you want to check it out and read more about the AU. . . https://www.furaffinity.net/view/23092101/
This map shows the land as it is in comparison to today countries of North America, in an alternate universe with one geological change. In my mind, I wanted the capital city of Auria to be similar to that of New York. Just as New York City is a symbol of America, the city Auria will be a symbol of the Aurorians. In addition, I wanted the capital to be located in the heartland, with the four city-states in the SouthEast, SouthWest, NorthWest, and NorthEast regions. In order to place the capital on the coastline while still being in the heartland of North America, I drew inspiration from an actual geological feature that existed millions of years ago, the Western Interior Seaway of North America. In this alternate universe of our world, there is a narrow seaway in the middle of America, with a small bit of land in the north connecting both halves of North America.
This map takes place several years after the war between the Aurorians and humans. During the colonial era, the Aurorians had lost a majority of their territories as the human countries expanded westward. As a result, tensions grew between them and eventually, they declared war on one another around the early 19th century (human time)/ AA 3770 (After Aurora Years). The Aurorians suffered the most lost in the first 10 years when the humans took down the old city of Auria and killed the Alpha King. That is until his daughter turned into the Dark Alpha in AA 3780 and led an army of Demons to annihilate the human race. But thanks to the heroic and courageous actions Validor Lumawing, her son, he defeated the demons and ended the war in AA 3800. and sought to make peace with the humans. Although the road to peace was tough in the first 100 years after the war, they eventually coexisted in peace by the early 21st century / AA 3940s.
You may notice a small bit of land way up in the Arctic that is owned by the Aurorians that is allegedly used for military purposes by the 5 Aurorian Armed Forces. I won't give much information about this, but let's just say not all Aurorians were happy with the peace and coexistence with humans after the war. In fact, this land claim up in the north has remained in complete secret, not even the Alpha leaders since Validor knew. That is until in AA 3970, on the 200th anniversary of the first war with humans, when they revealed some but not all of their "advancements" when a second war ensued. But more on that at a later date.
Since the Aurorians had lost their vast territories, they now only have the five cities, along with several small reservations throughout North America, as their own small territories for their sovereign country, the Aurorian Kingdom. That is what the colored areas represent, they represent areas of the population where each type of the Aurorians lives, but it no longer represents their territories as viewed by the humans. The new cities have been rebuilt in new locations and the remanents of the old cities remain preserved as historical sites for the Aurorians.

Now that I'm going back to college to resume classes on the 22nd, there will not be any time for me to work on my personal artwork since I'll dedicate that time towards my courses, especially in my architectural studio course. If I do have time, it would only be small and quick drawings whether it be digital or pen and paper, it depends, so I hope you understand and wish me luck.
