Stefán did have cancer and he did beat it 2 times. But it is extremely rare for cancer to go away for good when beaten. Unfortunantly when it came back a 3rd time, it became inoperable. He was told of this by the doctors and Stephan spent his last remaining time with his family (A wife and 4 kids).
