This originally had color. But, I really didn't like it so I took the color layer out. I do have the PNG of the color version; if enough of you want to see it, I guess I could submit it later.
I keep trying to find a method of shading that works for me, that isn't celshading. I kinda have been playing around with the airbrush on SAI, then using the watercolor brush to blend it together/smooth it out.
The thing is, it looks much better on its own than on the actual COLORS.
Tips? Suggestions? I'm beginning to get frustrated.

I think the purpley-grayscale looks nice, and the way you blended it seems to work as well. One thing you might like is using a smaller-size blending brush and doing some different types of shading in the hair vs. the fur? overall though, I think it looks really great :) i never quite got the hang of using SAI so i'm envious!
You're already better at the shading thing than I am. I used the burn tool in photoshop until I realized that it was coming out all uneven then switched to different shades of grays layered on each other, usually with a soft brush set to a lower opacity, then blurring the selected area's grays until it looks like a gradient instead of a weird cell shading thing. I can't cell shade. It comes out crappy when I try to, so I don't.
