You should watch "Gung Ho", an impossible to find Australian animated short by "Steve French". There the cat and the mouse end up drinking together in the end.

In fairness, Jerry would never hit a girl cat, nor would Tom a girl mouse.

Actually oddly enough, Jerry was usually chasing female cats.
