So i've been telling you guys ages about how i had to return my Cintiq 27QHD Tablet. I don't have to worry about that anymore since i got a replacement tablet.
It's not Wacom as you see. It's HUION. I bought used one for , like $600. It's all functional, i'd say i had good bargain ( new one was about $900 )
To be more exact, this one's GT-220 v2
And from short usage i can tell you this summary :
The Good
1. Included Stand / Supports - Comes with simple but useful adjustable stand.
2. "Just Right" Size - It doesn't make too much of obstruction.
The Neutral
1. Lack of Hotkey Buttons or Remotes - Just using keyboard can help.
2. Lack of Eraser Tip on Pen - A bit annoying, yet, Keyboard is easy fix.
3. The LCD Panel - It uses TFT LCD. The colors are not too great, but eh, the price explains it.
4. Overall, It's a bit flimsy - But 900$ for 22 inch tablet display is killer price, so i wouldn't complain much.
The Bad - Pen requires charging, but the execution of it is poor
Just a clarification : Pen that requires charging itself is not really Huion's fault.
More like, as far as i know Wacom patented Non-Battery Pen technology So technically
ONLY Wacom is allowed to produce pens that does not require charging.
However : While the pen requires charging, the Tablet itself doesn't have USB extension
for convenience, and the port that goes into pen is unconventional DC coupling.
This means if i lose or break this, i have to buy that specific cable from Huion for 5$.
The pen is big enough to fit very accessible Micro-USB port. I don't know why they didn't went for this.
I could have gone and saved up more money and bought better things, maybe. But i just wanted to be done with this Tablet Shenanigans. I just had too much problem to deal alone so getting rid of each one as fast as possible was my priority, so yea. Not to mention that i have dentist appointment today, and getting that teeth fixed is going to cost a lot of money too.
And you might ask. Jacky, where did you got all that money to do that? Simple. When i was still working at the game dev team my dad took 400$ from me for few months and put it on savings and he just gave me the money back. With that money , i was be able to pay off some of my bills, buy this tablet, and make dentist appointment. After dentist i'll be a bit broke again, but with two or three less problem to worry about.
Anyway feeling pretty swell.

Cool. I recently got myself a Huion GT-221 Pro, and I've been really loving it. It still requires charging, but can't ask for a better tablet monitor at the price. Though a last month they came out with the Kamvas Pro 22 and finally have a battery free pen, and tilt. If I waited a 2 months I could have gotten that instead but oh well the charge lasts like a month so no biggie. Maybe they'll come out with a battery free pen for their older models at some point.
BTW make sure the color gamut is set to full and not limited in your video card settings. I was complaining about the colors on my monitor for a while and then I switched that to full and it made it much better.

I did play around with settings a bit, it did made colors a bit better, but still it's lacking.
I think the main factor here is the screen panel itself. Tablet's got TFT LCD Panel, while my main monitor has AMVA+, and other two are VA and IPS. So actually colors are all jumpy across all monitors, But main AMVA+ and IPS gives the best color, and rest are kinda poor in that department. Oh well. At least i did made the colors as similar as possible to the main monitor.

Yeah in general I don't think Huion's monitors are going to be the best for color for a good while, I'm not even sure Wacom's are that great either since I've never used theirs. The GT-221 Pro has an IPS display, but the colors are still off a bit from my 4K monitor, changing the color gamut from limited to full helped a lot, but things are still off. My line work in particular seems to be much darker on my 4K monitor which affects my pieces. Also while it is an IPS monitor the viewing angle is pretty bad for one, if I'm not looking at it straight on the colors become washed out.
