Yes, Unrefined Linework with no intention on making full on finalized lineart. This is step 2 for drawing process after Gesture Drawing,
but since I was only going to sketch stage I made my pen a pencil texture brush

Gestures before Sketches super help, and so does having 5 pictures of cats in front of you. *thumbs up*

yee ^^ idk maybe it’s just me (i’m not exactly a professional like you seem to be :3) but the gesture is everything when it comes to characters. if the gesture is off, then it throws the whole artwork off. References are certainly good though ^_^ *thumbs up*

Gestures are immportant for every part of an art, but I don't think there's 'bad gestures'. Because it's what you make from them after that does it.

Most times My Gestures are a Circle and a Couple Wiggly Suasages or disembodied eye sockets. They are very
malleable placeholders. (Man, I shoulda saved the Gasture for these. They were Oblong blobs with 'ear holes'. fit for nightmares)

And I've just practice lots. Spent a lot of my time in art, and learning whenever I can. Drawing whatever I want, or want to learn.
And staring at random pictures of animals or myself in a mirror because I need too know how bodies work.

yee ^^ i’ve always had problems with getting the right gesture i wanted, so that’s likely why i consider there to be ‘bad gestures’ ^^;

hmmm... maybe that’s where i’m going wrong then, since i’m quite ridged in that i stick to the gesture as much as I possibly can ^^; (XD)

Yee ^^ practice makes perfect and all that jazz. While I do think that perfect is unobtainable, I will say that you’re art is pretty dang good 💚

My art teacher kinda had us do Geasture Drawing for our art class for 2 months straight or until we
could basically see through the world. It was a lot of "Let your hand do the thing, and see how few
time you need to lift up the pen". We weren't allowed to lift it the first 2 weeks. Gestures are the point
where you are VERY much allowed to play with and mess with things beyond Sketchies, and on Sketchies
you also refine more through the lineart rather than simply tracing. Was the most important class I ever
decided to take for myself.

I keep forgetting to save my process things so I can do more of these. the one i shared is one of my favs.
I also have a couple others I really like. Like some of these come off as "HOW did you get that from that?!"
Link 1 This one is Baffling when it starts! XD Makes me laugh all the time.
Link 2 This one has a tad more structure because I also Sketched it on Paper for idea practice.
Link 3 Ahaha, this one was a real long process because I was unfamiliar with lizards.
Link 4 I stuck rather close to this because I had a rather solid idea and was able to keep it down.

I don't believe there's such thing as an End when it comes to art and Getting Better.
You can always get better, just gotta ask yourself where you want to go and how you're gonna do it.

oh right owo my art teacher didn’t teach any of that XD (higschool art teacher that is) but that sounds kinda rough. I mean i know I’d personally be quite irritated if that was all we were doing for 2 months >w<

Believe it or not, but just doing those gestures for 2 months, we then went into full on human portraits
and that gesture drawing frikken improved everyone in class like mad. I was unbelievably suprized.
<u< The last month of projects were terrifying, but it was so awesome. He was also the most lax, fun teacher
I ever met. Let us decided the objects or people we wanted to gesture. Assignments of "look at the cafeteria
and gesture people" or "Go outside and stare at plants, eat, and doodle for the rest of class"
I drew a lot of Praying mantises. Also let us all cosplay on a daily basis.

wow that actually sounds awesome ^^ i mean it’s great that all that work payed off ^^ and art teachers, at least from what i’ve found, are usually either super chill, really nice, are a total nerd in the best way possible, or they’re strict and grumpy. So yeah... i don’t know where i was going with that XD art teachers are great ^_^ also daily cosplaying sounds amazing 💚
