Nope, the 2006/2007 models have Japanese gaskets, not sure of the manufacturer. Bought mine from a dealer right down the street here in San Jose, so if they're street-legal in Cali right off the lot, then the rest of the US should be gravy.
One thing, though, in Cali no rider's safety course or motorcycle licence is required, since it's considered an axled vehicle. Other places I've heard it's different.
