I will admit I do the poses first before doing the background. What i was trying to go for originally was to imply she would be the only thing that would still be standing against say... A laser beam or an Atom bomb. And I'm guessing the battery thing is a recurring reference?
Not sure if it is, but the battery (duracell) used to have a rabbit as their mascot wich is just what I've assumed is what durabelle is derived from (beacuse it's either too coincidental or a super clever pun that's also a great name)

Heh... What can I say i like making puns. Honestly I was worried the it wouldn't land because it felt out of place. Especially because i remember having a discussion about the rabbit mascot with some of my american friends and they said the only battery mascot was the energizer bunny.
