“Wow... You’re so beautiful.”
“You’re just saying that,” Arika says, “My burns make me ugly, I know that.”
“I mean it, Arika. You’re beautiful.” The human pulls the Jackal closer to him, making sure to keep her burns in view, “Trust me, I wouldn’t be here if I didn’t think so. Your burns make you unique, don’t you dare think otherwise.”
Arika rests her head on the human’s chest, the human resting a hand on her.
“Why do you have to be so nice?” Arika asks.
“Because you’ve been through a lot, you showed me your diary. You’ve been through a lot and I don’t want you to keep having a rough time with life. You deserve better. And I want to give you better.”
