The adjective "dumb" has two definitions. At the moment, both definitions apply to Nick Wilde.
1. stupid
synonyms: stupid, unintelligent, ignorant
"It was a dumb idea for Nick to use Judy's chapstick without permission, and he was even dumber for not checking the label or reading the attached note first."
2. temporarily unable or unwilling to speak.
synonyms: mute, speechless, tongue-tied
"Nick was rendered dumb because the chapstick (which was actually a glue stick) sealed his mouth shut."

Well, I guess if you combined the glue in the stick with sodium powder dissolved in liquefied cross-linked polyacrylamide, and then added a little bit of silicon hydrate, it would be like instant-drying superglue. But that would be too much work. I do like to see Nick in circumstances like this, though.
