It's nice to see her back down to a size three.

Well there is no reason she can't gain and lose weight over and over again.
Maybe she could have a trigger that would cause her to put on pounds.

Right. But you could make it exaggerated. Like, if she eats a doughnut? Boom! Instant extra fifty Lbs. Drink a soda? One hundred! Right to the hips!

She could have a collar that, when worn, causes her to get all the calaries from the food others eat withing 50 feet of her. Then when it's taken off she could lose all that weight.
