There is nothing more rare and elusive than personal
art from me I feel like XD I so rarely have the time,
and even when I do, I often feel that I can't quite capture
what I want to for my own character.
BUT, when I went to Disneyworld I saw a beautiful concept sketch
from Mulan, one of my MOST FAVORITE Disney movies of all time, of
the scene where she cuts off all her hair with her father's sword. When
I was a kid who was never quite as 'girly' as my parents hoped, seeing
Mulan own that, and going out and finding her own role, meant a lot.
And I was inspired to show a moment like that, that kind of strength
and defiance, from Pace's backstory. So here it is! The sword is modeled
off the one in the movie, as is the pose, but I changed the outfit and
setting to better suit Pace.
Also, there is one more Didney allusion in this piece, to my OTHER favorite
Disney movie. Can you find it? >:D

Definitely in the top 3 for my favorite Disney movies too!! I love seeing Pace in this, it's just so fitting and gorgeous!! Also like I said in response to Overdrive above, I definitely think her arm band is an homage to Pocahontas, though I could definitely be wrong!! ^^

This is AMAZING. I'm so impressed! I think what really shines in this piece is the lighting. It's SO complex and well-rendered. I just love the multiple light sources and colors.
It really brings the whole image to life. You have such a bright, cartoonish style, but the detailed lighting makes it so much more REAL. She looks like she really exists in a space.
