very unlikely earth is in the first 8% of plants in our galaxy capable of having life on it. for there to be 9 extinctions of life and regrowth we would see the damage on the surface of the planet or in the fossil record.
sorta terrifying to think since we are in the first batch of life in the galaxy there is a good chance we will be the first aliens as well. I feel bad for whatever Zenos we come across.

Extinction of life and extinction events are two very different things. I was referring to life as in all life no bacteria, no archaea no animals or plants left. Also, there has been 6 not five. we are the current ongoing extinction event, we as a species have wiped out over 20% of other species on the planet in the last 1000 years. That rate more then qualifies.

Lets say you have someone who behaves like Fen recorded in the past. Wouldn't you relate to that person? If that person that relates to you specifically and something bad happens to them people get a little mad about it and will excuse it by saying it was aimed at themselves. If its true that Fen was a dragon in the past... Like in a previous world.

I'd have said 'give me a 5 minute condensed lecture/history lesson' before agreeing to the tether. You don't need intricate details, more the major events that caused the end of the world.

Think of it from her perspective though. She lives in a world that popped into existence a thousand years ago and nobody knows what happened before that. She gets to be the first to learn about it.
