A while ago I started work on a dating sim for Spice of Life. I got through the 'common route' (the story before it branches off into different characters) but lost interest when it came to writing specific stories for each character. The previous parts were all standalone scenes for the most part, while I knew the romantic routes needed to be more focused, which for some reason made it seem more tedious...

I wanted to show off a side-by-side comparison of my old art for the visual novel and a newer one I did for Spice. I'm pretty happy with how far I've come, though I know I've still got a ways to go. I'm hoping if I do some new art for all the characters I'll find myself wanting to finish the project (though at this point it would mean starting over).

While I've drawn the whole of Spice's body on the right, I'm going to be cropping it so the focus is more on his face and expression as the player interacts with him. With any luck I'll have expressions set up soon and I'll be able to start working on the next character on my list.
