This is Maximillion. He is a cynocephalos. They're a critter mentioned by Pliny in one of his letters about what lives in Africa (lolwut) and they are a race of humanoid bipeds with dogheads. Hence the name, all ye who know their Greek. Although why Pliny gave them a Greek name when he primarily spoke Latin is beyond me.
