What was I up to this weekend? Making a portable paintbox out of a mooncake tin.
Its a beautiful tin, and I had no idea what to use it for until I ran across a DA article on making your own portable watercolor palette out of a sliding mint tin. I didn't want anything that small, so I went for the mint tin. I used a strange square cap I found to make the wells in sculpy and smoothed it down reasonably, baked it, and then sprayed it twice with white enamel. I've then filled each well with the colors I use most, and its ready to go whever I want it to.
Sadly I used my Reeves paint because I have a lot of it. I hate them with a undying passion, but I figure, hey, use them up and get rid of them XD
