Some fanart of a personal favorite comic book character of min, Lylla Otter!
Lylla is a character from the old Rocket Raccoon comics from Marvel, and was Rocket’s love interest back in the day. She unfortunately has seen very little page time since the 80’s and has never been written to what I think her full potential could be. This drawing was a bit of my own redesign/reimagining of the character, bringing her into a more modern style akin to the modern comics and MCU films. I think Lylla has the potential to be a really great character and I’d love to write her (Marvel please return my calls). The rifle she has was referenced and inspired by the Biotic Rifle used by Ana Amari in Overwatch, and serves a similar function of being able to heal allies from a distance.

Thank you! And same here! I’ve been writing a like short story about her becoming a doctor for a few years, but she feels like she can do more and is inspired by heroes like her old friend Rocket and the Guardians to travel the galaxy and help people however she can, specifically small communities of disenfranchised and oppressed people. She lends her medical, technical, and negotiation skills to situations; and while it isn’t her first choice, she’s willing to fight for people too. Some people might think it boring or corny but I totally love the idea of truly Empathetic characters who help just because they can.
