I was fortunate to be able to live on my friend's farm back when I used to work for the college I graduated from. They had 50 rolling acres, a beautiful new house, a couple geldings, 4 mares, one new yearling colt and NO BRAINS. My friend used to laugh at the colt trying to mount the mares in the field. I tried to warn him that he wasn't just trying, that he was succeed. He insisted that the colt was too young to actually get them pregnant and he would geld him before he was a concern.
Needless to say, all the mares were pregnant the next spring. The one mare I liked the most was a beautiful palimino arab quarter horse cross and the sire (the randy colt) was a white pure bred English Arab. Both were also very gentle so I knew their offspring would be a wonderful horse. I bought their foal one week before she was born and had the privilege of witnessing and photographing her birth. When I saw the large star on her head, I decided to name her 'Centari' (Tari for sort)
I raised and worked with Tari for probably the best 8 months of my life. unfortunately, my contract with the college ran out and I had to move to the city when I recieved my current job offer. It broke my heart to have to sell her.
Shortly after her first birthday, I got to visit her. When I sold her, her coat had just turned a mottled roan and was shedding to a light grey. She was now full grown and completely white (actually a very light grey) but I could still make out her large star and stripe on her face. She grew up so beautiful and loved by her current owner, I decided not to visit her again since it was just too difficult for me to do so.
